Acclaimed contemporary classical composer Augusta Read Thomas wrote Rumi Settings, a four-movement duet for violin and viola, for the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music back in 2001. Thomas dedicated the piece to the musicians who premiered it in 2002, Ani and Ida Kavafian.

The piece lasts approximately nine minutes.
