Winners Named in French Cello-Making Competition

A panel of expert luthiers, and the audience, singled out six cello makers for their excellence at Les Journées du Violoncelle à Paris (Cello Days in Paris), a performance and lutherie competition held in December.

A panel of expert luthiers, and the audience, singled out six cello makers for their excellence at Les Journées du Violoncelle à Paris (Cello Days in Paris), a performance and lutherie competition held in December. The event was hosted by the French Cello Society. The six luthiers, none of whom received the unanimous approval of the panel, are: Régis Bury, Antoine Cauche, Frédéric Chaudière, Tanguy Fraval, Joël Klepal, and François Varcin.
