US Gymnast Uses Lara St. John Music as Athletic Muse

Liukin Nastia ended up winning a bronze metal

Though not on the mats, Lara St. John was in the mind of one gymnast during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. US gymnast Liukin Nastia used St. John's recording of Ilan Rechtman's "Variations on Dark Eyes," from the 1997 Gypsy album, during the Women's Floor Exercise. Nastia scored a bronze medal in that event.
