Sphinx Competition Announces Winners for 14th Annual Heat
Violinist Alexandra Switala and violist Paul Laraia win Junior and Senior divisions
The winners of the 14th annual Sphinx Competition are violinist Alexandra Switala, 16, and violist Paul Laraia, 21, in the Junior and Senior divisions, respectively. The competition, which takes place in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is presented by the Sphinx Organization to increase the participation of African American and Latino youth in classical music.
