The Potter Violin Company in Bethesda, Maryland, now offers private consultations with David Basch, author of One Step Up, a Buyer’s Guide to Stringed Instruments. The fee for a consultation, to which clients may bring several instruments, is $50 per half hour, which can be applied to a purchase at Potter.
