NY Phil to Observe 9/11 Anniversary with Free Concert

To mark the tenth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania—and to honor the victims, their families, the first responders who heroically gave their lives, and the survivors—the New York Philharmonic is performing Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Resurrection, at Avery Fisher Hall on September 10. Tickets are free and will be distributed at 4 pm at the Josie Robertson Plaza at Lincoln Center on the day of the concert. Music director Alan Gilbert and the NY Phil will be joined by soprano Dorothea Röschmann, mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung, and the New York Choral Artists. Priority tickets are being given to the survivors and victims’ families. nyphil.org/attend/season/index.cfm?page=eventDetail&eventNum=2429&performanceNum=4079&seasonNum=11&mI=0&sI=0
