Irish Fiddler iPad App Is a Hit

Irish fiddle sensation Mairéad Hickey, 15, from Cork, has developed an Irish fiddle iPad teaching app that has caught on worldwide. The Irish Fiddler app includes instructions for playing a set of traditional Irish airs.
It was developed with the help of Marion Roche Martin, a former Cork Institute of Technology student. Under the guidance of Cork School of Music teacher Adrian Petcu and Cill na Martra–based fiddler Connie O’Connell, Hickey has won eight all Ireland titles for her fiddle playing.
Hickey is the current National Concert Hall Young Musician of the Year.
