As Others Drop Out, Pacifica Quartet Tours Japan

Stops include Tokyo, Yokohama, and Nagoya

In a show of solidarity to the devastated country, the Pacifica Quartet is touring Japan from June 10 to June 19. A press release says the ensemble’s decision “comes in the wake of many cancellations and postponements by artists who were scheduled to tour the country due to concerns following the March earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster.” The concert schedule includes stops in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Nagoya. “The strength and resilience of the Japanese people have been profound,” Pacifica violist Masumi Per Rostad notes. “It is always an honor for us to be able to play in this wonderful country.” pacificaquartet.com
