Three Indian violinists lead Symphony of Strings 2012

A group of top Indian violinists and pedagogues—including M. Subramania Sarma, Sriram Parasuram, and Neyveli S. Radhakrishna (playing double violin)—led the three-day Symphony of Strings 2012 in February with concerts, master classes, and workshops. 

Violinist Byol Kang, of Australia, cellist Maximilian Hornung, of Germany, as well as the Atos Trio, of Germany, are among the winners of the 2012 Borletti-Buitoni Trust fellowships. 

The Juilliard School of Music has announced that educator, concert violinist and violist, and recording artist Ida Kavafian will join the faculty at the venerable New York City conservatory. 

Donald Runnicles has agreed to a two-year contract as principal guest conductor with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
