Carpe Diem member tackles a half dozen musically challenging new works
This past year, I devoted quite a bit of time to learning and recording a work I commissioned, Six Tasty Caprices for solo violin, by American composer Korine Fujiwara. When I commissioned a set of violin caprices, I had in mind a work that would follow in the tradition of virtuoso violinists who were also composers: Paganini, Wieniawski, and Ysaÿe, for examples.
