I studied this edition in advance of a faculty-artist series performance that was held last year at the University of Arizona’s School of Music. I was unfamiliar with the score till then.
The edition I used is handwritten, with score and parts—I have been researching the psychological influence that handwritten compositions, versus machine-printed editions, have on performers. I find that with handwritten scores, the music seems more “human” to the studiers/performers and that they “take” to the music more readily.
