Auction Houses Set for Fall Musical Instrument Sales
Sales start October 9 at Christie’s in New York
Want to see where the dealers shop? Just can’t get enough of violins and bows? Or maybe you’ve always wanted a plausible excuse to visit the iconic Christie’s. Take advantage of the fall auction season, in the second week of October. Sales start October 9 at Christie’s, at Rockefeller Plaza in New York, followed by Skinner’s in Boston, on Sunday, October 11. Previews start two days before the sale date. Tarisio, the online violin auction house, holds previews concurrently with the brick-and-mortar houses in both cities, and then does the selling via the internet on October 13 and 14.
