New Ownership for Bam Cases
A new face with a familiar name in the violin trade recently purchased Bam Cases. With his purchase of the French case manufacturer, Robert Götz steps into the musical-instrument trade after pursuing another career. If that last name looks familiar, it’s because he is from the family of noted German violin accessory manufacturer C.A. Götz. Robert, who went into the plastics industry instead of following into the long-established family business of producing instruments, fittings, and tools, will bring his experience in international management and producing plastics to Bam, which is known for its sleek plastic instrument cases. According to Bam’s US rep Carole Boutry, though company co-founder Phillipe de Trogoff is retiring from his leadership role, he will continue developing new products for Bam and will play more music in his personal time. De Trogoff’s business partner and Bam co-founder Laurence O’Neill is staying onboard.
