South Korean violin maker Min Sung Kim took top honors for his fiddle “Hangang” at the 12th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Making Competition, held May 12 in Poznan´, Poland. German maker Marcus Klimke came in a close second, with awards for highest violin-making qualities and most beautiful varnish. A group of violin luminaries, which included Roger Hargrave, Roland Baumgartner, and Joseph Grubaugh, judged the competition. wieniawski.com
