Presented in a matte black/titanium-finished housing, the sleek Olympus LS-7 Linear PCM digital recorder uses three mics to record at a superior-to-CD level. Our light (3.2 oz.) test unit came with two AAA Ni-MH batteries, which were good for several hours of use and rechargeable through a USB jack. The LS-7 also includes mini-jacks for external mic and headphones. Balancing value against extremely high-quality recordings and long recording times, the LS-7 represents a current peak of recorders in its price range.
