Karura Case Co.Violin Flight Case
Case maker David Foreman earned his wings as an aerospace engineer before turning his attention a decade ago to manufacturing lightweight, high-strength guitar flight cases. More recently, Foreman’s firm—the Bangkok-based Karura Case Company—has applied that same technology to violin flight cases to protect against shock, heat, cold, moisture, and dust. Hand constructed and elegantly designed, the violin flight case features an exterior shell of aerospace-quality carbon-fiber cloth capable of withstanding more than one ton of compression load. The insulated interior is thickly padded around core materials that dissipate the force of an impact (like a motorcycle helmet does). There is a padded compartment for two bows. All hardware is made of stainless steel or properly plated alloys and is reinforced with stainless steel plates at attachment locations. Overlapping rubber gaskets provide a snug, waterproof fit. There are two locking latches, a rugged handle, and a secure shoulder strap. Each case can be custom fit to match the measurements of your instrument.
