Gotham Strings Bass Bows
A new line of affordable composite bows from David Gage.
New York’s bass-focused David Gage String Instruments has a new line of affordable carbon-fiber bows debuting under the Gotham Strings brand name. They are priced between fiberglass bows and low-end wooden bows, and the manufacturer claims that each new Gotham bow “produces a richer sound than fiberglass or inexpensive wooden bows, and because it is carbon fiber, it is consistent and durable.” The Gotham Strings Song302G features a braided carbon-fiber stick, while the Gotham Song850F has a molded carbon-fiber stick for a lower price point. Both are available in German or French grip models. Each bow ships in a tube and includes a rosin cake.
